How Choti works

A closer look, built into your routine

The Choti Brush uses an embedded high-magnification camera and controlled lighting to capture detailed images of your scalp and hair. There’s no separate scan or new routine. Imaging happens as part of the way you already care for your hair.

Magnified imaging is already used by dermatologists and hair specialists to examine the scalp and hair in detail. Choti brings this kind of visibility into an everyday format, designed to make consistent observation possible over time.

From images to measurements

The Choti app analyzes your images to identify and measure visible characteristics of your hair and scalp, including:

  • Hair density
  • Hair thickness
  • Scalp flaking & buildup
  • Scalp redness
  • Scalp oil
  • Hair shine
  • Hair damage

Our measurement methods are developed and tested against reference measurements, with input from dermatologists and other experts. As we develop Choti, we continue to evaluate their consistency and accuracy across different hair types, skin tones and environments.

The value is in what changes

A single image tells you what your hair and scalp look like today. Choti is designed to show you what happens over weeks, months and years.

Your measurements create a continuous personal history. Instead of relying on memory or occasional photos, you can see whether something is changing, when it started and how it has evolved.

Putting your hair in context

Hair doesn’t exist in isolation. Products, routines, environment and lifestyle can all coincide with changes in what you see.

In the Choti app, you can record the products and routines you’re using and connect other sources of information over time. Choti brings these inputs together with your images and measurements, helping you explore patterns and understand what works best for your hair and scalp.
